Mynd

App, UX/UI

Mynd is a personalized continuing education service. I created the app portion of the service, which features an educational treasure hunt in the real world. During the research phase, the team and I discovered that online education users felt that it lacks real world experiences. After creating a prototype of the app, we conducted user-testing to better solve for the problem.

Online learning should be more engaging for continuing students.

Mynd is an personalized educational service, which utilizes a hybrid of online and offline touch points for greater accessibility. Mynd is a collaboration between Ashley Sabatino, Donna Lomboy, Eric Armstrong, and myself. I created the treasure hunt portion of Mynd in the form of an app, all of which, from conception to execution was my responsibility. The app leads students on a treasure hunt through the city in which they live. During the treasure hunt, students are prompted with riddles related to their field of study. Students are encouraged to buddy up on this real world learning adventure. At the end of the treasure hunt, students are lead to an exciting lecture or event on a subject related to their studies.

Considering all research and interviews, we created a user experience map using a pre-existing online educational tool as an example.

USER TESTING

USER TESTING

After research, ideation, and creation it was time to test Mynd on real people to see what improvements could be made. During user testing we gained new insights into the user experience of the service that would enable the team to make Mynd more user friendly.
